  • Throughout this module, family members will learn about how ADHD affects learning and how to request support for your child.
  • Register early so that you can reserve your spot now. Classes fill up quickly. $49.00 for the entire course and comprehensive resource book. 
  • This is a three-session course that will be held online
    • You will need a computer, Internet access and either speakers or headset with microphone to participate or you may connect through a mobile device like a cell phone or tablet.
    • If you do not have computer speakers or have trouble hearing over your computer, you can connect the audio to your phone by dialing the phone number and entering the access code provided.

Can't attend? Register for the course and receive the recording one day after the live training via email.

  • Identify how ADHD affects learning
  • Describe challenges children with ADHD experience at school
  • Explain how to develop good home-school communication
  • Customize a home-school communication tracker
  • Describe the difference between accommodations and interventions
  • List different accommodations for each challenge children with ADHD may experience at school

Requesting Support for Your Child at School

This training is designed to help you:

  • List the steps to take when a child with ADHD is having difficulty at school
  • Explain the importance of submitting all requests in writing and keeping records of all communication
  • Describe what an academic evaluation is
  • Identify what to include in a request for an evaluation
  • Explain what happens after a request for an evaluation is submitted
  • Communicate the answers to frequently asked questions about academic evaluations
  • Differentiate between two educational rights laws

This training is designed to help you:

  • Define Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
  • Explain eligibility requirements for Section 504
  • Describe what Section 504 provides
  • Define Individuals with Disabilities Education Act

  • Describe what IDEA provides
  • Explain the re-evaluation requirements for Section 504 and IDEA
  • Describe the special procedures related to discipline under Section 504 and IDEA
