Parent to Parent: Family Training on ADHD provides parents with a comprehensive understanding of ADHD as well as strategies to improve life at home and school. Designed by parents for parents, this training provides information from the parent’s perspective.

Throughout this in-person course, you will learn what ADHD is, its probable causes, the process of diagnosis and assessment, components of a multimodal treatment approach, complementary and alternative treatment options, strategies for creating an ADHD-friendly home environment, and how to support a child with ADHD at school.

Class takes place on two consecutive Saturdays, 3/30 & 4/6, 9 am - 3:30 pm at Conference Room F, Niles Building, Kaiser Permanente Fremont Campus, 39400 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont, CA  94538

Introduction to ADHD

This training is designed to help you:

This training is designed to help you:

  • Identify how ADHD affects learning
  • Describe challenges children with ADHD experience at school
  • Explain how to develop good home-school communication
  • Customize a home-school communication tracker
  • Describe the difference between accommodations and interventions
  • List different accommodations for each challenge children with ADHD may experience at school

Requesting Support for Your Child at School

This training is designed to help you:

  • List the steps to take when a child with ADHD is having difficulty at school
  • Explain the importance of submitting all requests in writing and keeping records of all communication
  • Describe what an academic evaluation is
  • Identify what to include in a request for an evaluation
